Temporary Road Closure: White Ball Gate to Cracker Corner for Resurfacing Works

A road closure will take place between White Ball Gate and Cracker Corner A section of road between White Ball Gate and Cracker Corner will be closed from Monday, 28 October 2024, to Monday, 4 November 2024, to facilitate essential resurfacing works.

Traffic Management:

During the closure, Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) accessing Westleigh Quarry will be rerouted through Burlescombe, resulting in two-way lorry movements within the village.

To mitigate disruption:

  • Speed Regulation: Temporary 20 mph speed limit signs will be installed for HGVs in Burlescombe.
  • Access Restriction: A ‘No access to Westleigh Quarry’ sign will be placed at the White Ball end of the closure.

This schedule coincides with Burlescombe Primary School’s half-term break, aiming to minimise impact on school traffic.
