Burlescombe Parish Council Welcomes Three New Councillors

Burlescombe Parish Council has announced the co-option of three new members: Fran Box, Stuart McDonald, and Helen Walker. This development restores the council to its full complement of representatives.

The vacancies arose following the resignations of Councillors Steve Scott, Nick Eaves, and Louise Farley. The council initiated a recruitment process, encouraging residents to step forward. As the number of candidates equalled the available seats, an election was unnecessary, and the candidates were co-opted, streamlining the process and conserving resources.

The council anticipates that the new councillors will bring fresh perspectives and a shared enthusiasm for local governance. Their contributions are expected to focus on core community areas, including safety, planning, and recreational facilities. Short biographies of each councillor will be available on the council’s website to provide residents with insights into their backgrounds and objectives.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed about council activities by visiting the recently launched council website, which serves as a hub for information, meeting agendas, and updates.
